We want to see Sydney take its place as a Top 10 start-up ecosystem globally. TechSydney is the peak industry group for high-growth start-ups and technology companies, run by entrepreneurs. We deliver programs and advocacy on behalf of the local industry to promote a stronger community, knowledge-sharing and industry inclusiveness. Global Research shows us that hi-tech jobs in innovation precincts have a multiplier effect, creating five additional jobs for each hi-tech job within the precinct. TechSydney has been lobbying the NSW Government to build a world-class facility of this nature in Sydney, creating permanent home for the tech industry and establishing the foundation for future job creation.
We have advocated the use of the precinct around Central station, to be known as "TechCentral." The design and development of the precinct should be industry-led and, above all, it must be structured to accommodate all players in the industry, from pre-revenue start-ups all the way to the tech giants. This will ensure the proper functioning of the shared-learning infrastructure and create additional opportunities for companies at both ends of the food chain.
